Following the public outcry on Twitter over the killing of scores of persons in communities in Benue state, the presidency has issued a statement from its Digital Strategy & Engagement Unit on Twitter.
“Law enforcement agents are working to ascertain the accuracy of reports of fresh killings in Benue. The @PoliceNG will issue a statement,” it tweeted.
The three-tweet statement went on to say that “many of Photos being circulated NOT from Benue”, adding that the other photos are “being fact-checked”.
